That's right, I'm back!!
Blogging isn't what it used to be. So much competition. Facebook, Ravelry, iphone apps -- they all take up lots of time and are lots of fun.
I started blogging as a means to document my knitting and my life (somewhat) and the above things have pretty much done that for me with, lets face it, less effort. Blogger is a pain, the uploading and editing, etc. When you can take a photo with your phone and instantly send it to facebook or Ravelry, it seems like a lot of duplication of effort to do it here too.
So I decided not to stop blogging, but to take a blog break and see. After a few months of that, I think I miss it. So here I am. I decided that personal stuff will continue on facebook since folks I know keep up with me and my family there. But the knitting...even though I update Ravelry pretty faithfully, I don't really get to talk about it much there. And the crafting - I have been feeling the "itch" to do other sorts of crafting, and that isn't documented anywhere!
So Yarn Paper Scissors will continue as my adventures in knitting and crafting. My posting may be sporadic, as is my knitting and crafting life due to family and time constraints. I may only have 2 readers, but hey, that's okay.
If you are still reading at this point, look soon for new posts of what I've been up to since the new year began, and maybe a freshening up of the blog look.
It's good to be back.

Blog Spring Cleaning!
It's time for a breath of fresh air for spring! I made a floral banner to lighten up the blog. Enjoy.

Fun site and a celebration! Hooray!
Busy, busy, busy. With all the wedding planning and a crazy busy work schedule, things haven't actually been going so well on the creativity front. I've got a great plan to do a creative scrapbook album-type thingy instead of a traditional guest book. Actually sitting down and doing it, however, may be troublesome. So, to make a long story short, I found this lovely web site and accompanying blog that celebrates the lives of real women with real schedules and discusses how real women scrap! Looks like I'm not alone on the busy front!
Here are the links.... http://www.realwomenscrap.com/index2.php and http://realwomenscrap.typepad.com/scrapbook_lessons/
And, during the month of August, the site is celebrating blogging as well. I've attached the site's blog-a-bration button so you can click and find out what it is all about. Hope you like it.

Yarn Paper Scissors
Thanks to Emily the wondergirl for the blog banner and button. It only took a few bribes and/or pleading to get that done. It is very interesting that I have been trying for FOREVER to get a better banner and coordinate a photo banner with blogger but it took Emily like 2 seconds to do.

Seven Random Facts About Cindy
I was tagged to do this meme and I've never done one before so here goes -
- I'm left handed, my sister is left handed, but no one else, not my mom or dad or my kids is left-handed. I'm very proud of my left handedness, but am sort of sad I did not pass it on to my kids.
- I hate apples. The entire universe loves apples, and I can't stand them. It's the texture. Ick.
- I skipped first grade. Instead of branding me a genius for life, it has resulted in me not learning my left from my right very well. It took me learning to drive for that to click. (Watching Blue's Clues with Grace helped too)
- I love the Brady Bunch. Gilligan's Island and I Dream of Jeannie aren't bad either. I can't stand Leave It to Beaver.
- I could watch the movie Elf and the newer Parent Trap over and over again. I realize they are cheesy. When Lindsay Lohan realizes she's a twin I tear up every time.
- I think dimples on guys are very cute. (Mario Lopez! Jeff Probst!) I didn't really notice them until Alex was born with the deepest dimples ever.
- My favorite food in the world is Rocky Road ice cream from Rite Aid/Thrifty. If they discontinue it I will be very, very sad.

We've converted!
It was scary, and I'm not sure if it was worth waiting for, but we are live on the new Blogger! We look a little different, and I wish I knew how to customize our banner on top, but for now, here were are!
