Ready for a wing

Big projects do not make exciting blog posts. I have been knitting away at the mystery stole in an attempt to catch up. I have now (on Tuesday) caught up to this week's clue.

Good thing, being that the mystery has been revealed. The stole is patterned to represent "Swan Lake." That sounds so normal and not mysterious compared to the offbeat and sometimes sinister guesses that have been floating around the internet. Anyway, the design is now going to feature a wing, which sounds very odd, but I think will look very nice, although will take most everyone out of their knitting comfort zone. I am used to symmetrical designs, so this will be good for me. And it is looking very pretty on the blogs I have been cheating and looking at.

I am also enjoying ravelry! What a great place to compare others' work and see the difference yarn choices and color make. It is really like a knitting/internet revolution. That sounds very melodramatic, but it has a huge potential that is very exciting. I love it! I haven't said too much about it since it is not open to the general public yet and can't be viewed unless you are a beta user, and that is a giant bummer because it is great! I am telling everyone it is like a Myspace for knitters, but it also keeps track of projects and yarn with photos and you can view everyone else's finished objects and find lots of inspiration, and I could go on and on! It will be great when it is finally up and running. Jesse and Casey are the brains behind it and they are brilliant!

1st of all - I love the color of your stole - the pattern shows up beautifully in light blue. and wow are you moving at warp speed to catch up! I am about 20 rows away from completing clue 5.
Ravelry - I didn't even sign up to get on the list until mid June...Here is where I am -
* You signed up on June 16, 2007
* You are #9561 on the list.
* 1382 people are ahead of you in line.
* 14058 people are behind you in line.
* 34% of the list has been invited so far

I'm actually hoping I don't get there for awhile, because I don't have the time to do anything about it right now!! I wasn't even going to sign up, but I started realizing I would be left behind and I didn't want to be totally out of the loop! So I'll see you there someday...

Your stole is lovely so far! I'm still working on Clue 4, but I'm looking forward to the wing!
